  • Twin Tech Tactical has designed, and is manufacturing a fully machined polymer takedown lever to replace the weak factory piece. This takedown lever is far superior to the Ruger injection molded part in two ways.
First our parts are fully machined from a billet block of a super strong, high impact resistant polymer. This process insures that there are no defects in the material, such as hotspots, porosity, or cooling cracks that are inherent on the Ruger injection molded piece. Second our parts have more impact surface area as you can see by the comparison photos.

 Product Description

Twin Tech Tactical has designed, and is manufacturing a fully machined polymer takedown lever to replace the weak factory piece.

Second our parts have more impact surface area than the original Ruger factory piece as you can see by the comparison photos.

Although our take down lever is superior to Ruger’s factory piece, it is not indestructible. There are a lot of different factors that will affect the life of our TDL that we have no control over, like: shooting suppressors wet with any ammo, hyper velocity ammo, improper installation, and homemade suppressors.  We have made our best attempt to remedy a bad design and these parts should be considered a sacrificial piece that could fail at some point in the future.

  2. SR22 Take Down Lever

Posted by Evan on Aug 12th 2015

My plastic stock lever finally broke. I was anticipating it for some time now. I have Twin Tech Tactical's threaded barrel and was very impressed with the quality so I knew the take down lever would be too.
The new take down lever was easy to install following the TTT video on youtube. Like the video states the lever is a lot harder to pop down. It could be a little easier but it isn't a major issue. The take down lever is a great price too.
Thanks TTT for the great products!

  3. Good for a while, then failed

This piece is as described. It is certainly beefier than the stock piece. However, and this may be a matter of my particular SR22, this piece wore out for me after less than a few hundred rounds of mixed suppressed subsonic and unsupressed super sonic rounds. What seemed to happened was that the slide recoil was favoring one side of the take down lever. This caused rather dramatic wear resulting in one side having a ramp profile. Once this happened, it allowed the take down lever to be pushed down by the slide recoiling. This in turn allowed the slide to hop off the frame rails and make the pistol un-useable. Again, this may be a function of how my pistol is running, and this same issue could happen with the stock lever. But, seeing as how the Twin Tech piece is touted as being better, I was expected better wear resistance. We'll see how an identical replacement holds up.
