Twin Tech Tactical has designed, and is manufacturing a fully machined polymer takedown lever to replace the weak factory piece. This takedown lever is far superior to the Ruger injection molded part in two ways.
First our parts are fully machined from a billet block of a super strong, high impact resistant polymer. This process insures that there are no defects in the material, such as hotspots, porosity, or cooling cracks that are inherent on the Ruger injection molded piece. Second our parts have more impact surface area than the original Ruger factory piece as you can see by the comparison photos.
Although our take down lever is superior to Ruger’s factory piece, it is not indestructible. There are a lot of different factors that will affect the life of our TDL that we have no control over, like: shooting suppressors wet with any ammo, hyper velocity ammo, improper installation, and homemade suppressors. We have made our best attempt to remedy a bad design and these parts should be considered a sacrificial piece that could fail at some point in the future.

Got the takedown lever exactly when they said I would. Watching the video was an easily install for the takedown lever. Couldn't be happier with the product

Top quality replacement part, positive locking detent, range session was without any problems, the prompt service was fast. Thanks

Installation was straight forward. Just follow the video. But, there is a problem with the detent. It's too strong. I now need to depress the detent to close the lever (using a small screw driver). Opening is another problem. The original part was easy to open. The new replacement now requires a small screw driver to overcome the strong detent spring when opening.

I just purchased the slide release lever for the Ruger SR22. Absolutely precision fit and a very good You Tube video on installation. Pin is a little hard to remove and replace. Have a good punch and take your time. I also have the SR22 threaded barrel replacement which is very accurate and another high quality product. Great outfit with really good ideas.

Had my gunsmith install the SR22 takedown lever and he mentioned that it appeared to be of very high quality. He also said it was easy to install. A winner.

The Takedown Lever was nicely made and well finished. The only issue I have is that the detent ball is quite hard to depress when closing the lever. I use a small punch to depress it and it snaps into position tightly. My factory part had the top of the lever ripped right off down to the spring channel. I was testing suppressors and the extra back pressure beat the factory part to death in about 20 or so rounds.
One note for all those replacing the takedown lever - be sure the trigger bar return spring is straight in the grip assy. and the plunger is inserted in the sq. hole in the chassis BEFORE putting the two parts back together. I mangled my spring and had to rewind the spring on a drill bit twice. The video makes this seem easy and quick but it may not be. Take your time to get the spring and plunger started straight in both parts before you push them together.

I am a full-service gunsmith in a busy retail shop in San Diego, and unfortunately the SR22 has a design flaw in which the take down lever eventually fails with regular use. This aftermarket component is an easy install, requires no fitment or tuning, and is well made. The material strength exceeds the stock part, and the detent stiffness is an improvement over the stock part because of the extremely important requirement of keeping the lever locked during firing to avoid instant breakage.

Installation was easy but I have two complaints. First the detent is really stiff. Its best to use a punch to push in the detent so you can close the lever instead of trying to force it closed. Second, because the detent is overly stiff you will more than likely not be able to drop the lever for take down using your finger nail. Beware using anything metal, it will bugger up the softer material of the take down lever as you pry it down.

Purchasing and installation was easy and fast. Thanks to the guys at Twin for the video. Works like Ruger should have made sure it would have when the pistol left their factory.
Every owner of an SR22 should buy one of these, even if they are not yet having a problem.
No more slides flying down range!

Apples to apples, product arrived, and they're NOT lying; this is a FAR superior replacement part to the factory stock. You can see the swirls in the plastic of the Ruger part, TwinTech's looks like it's made from obsidian. It is also noticeably denser and harder.
I purchased the lever after I destroyed factory stock lever after installing TwinTech OEM threaded barrel and using a GM22. 'Don't know if stock levers for SR22's with threaded barrels are better, but they should be. Mine was shredded.
Haven't installed the lever yet, but look at Mosin Virus' SR22 Youtube SR22 video if you want better visuals. TwinTech's video quality is crappy, though more verbally instructive.
Speaking of the OEM twin tech threaded barrel, 'works GREAT. Also got the standard adapter.
